Q: How do you use avocado oil?
A: It is very simple to use.
First, apply it directly to the skin and face. Just a few drops are enough to let it absorb for your daytime skincare and its anti-aging effects and prevention of cell oxidation. If the smell is too strong for you, you can, for example, combine it with precious jojoba oil: your mixture will then have a more neutral smell.
As a pre-shampoo mask, avocado is a very powerful ally for strengthening curly, dry, or brittle hair. Apply it directly to the lengths and ends, and leave it on for about thirty minutes. If you have the opportunity, you can also leave it on overnight in a warm towel. One little tip, however, is to rinse your hair with cool water to tighten the cuticles. Your hair will then be stronger and shinier, all naturally!
Q: Avocado oil or sweet almond oil?
A: The two oils are quite similar and are often recommended for the same uses.
That said, our avocado oil has a drier feel than sweet almond oil (which is, for example, used more for massages, because it penetrates less into the skin and therefore lasts longer during a body massage.
Regarding its smell, ours is quite strong, compared to sweet almond oil, which is quite standardized and therefore more predictable, so it is up to you to see according to your preferences.
Regarding its use on the face, both oils are very effective at making your skin soft and nourishing it deeply, so we will leave it to you to judge based on the sensory experience and the smell what you prefer.
For hair, especially as a mask, we recommend avocado over sweet almond: the effects are greater and also last longer.
Q: What are the benefits of avocado oil?
A: When we talk about avocado oil, we are often talking about its benefits for hair first and foremost. It is true that it is very effective in this case, but it is far from being limited to its effects on your hair. On the body, on the face, or as a makeup remover oil, avocado oil is one of the essential oils to have in your bathroom.
It has a very useful antioxidant action on the surface of the skin, and is particularly effective in preventing stretch marks.
It helps maintain the function of the cell membrane thanks to its natural sterols, and has an emollient effect on the skin (it makes it softer!). It is an oil that is quite easy to preserve (its recommended shelf life is 4 to 6 months, or even more if it has been stored away from light and heat). It also tolerates mixtures with essential oils very well, such as ylang-ylang for skin radiance or rose geranium for anti-aging effects.
Q: Does avocado oil make hair grow and how do you use it on your hair?
A: Avocado is talked about mainly for nourishing hair and not for hair growth. For hair growth (and slowing down hair loss afterwards), we recommend castor oil more.
It is, however, excellent as a mask for softening your hair, preventing tangles, and regenerating your hair fiber. This is why you will find it in the composition of excellent hair care products or hair balms.
Q: What is its smell and how is it extracted?
A: Our avocado oil has a strong smell. We wanted an oil that was as raw as possible, far from neutralized oils (because they are heated until they lose their nutrients, or refined). We wanted a cold-pressed oil, with still a little fruit pulp for more effectiveness.
Our oil is therefore derived from raw avocado pits, without any alteration, and the oil is obtained by pressing in Madagascar, the other parts of the plant are not involved, unlike the production of essential oils which requires extracting the components present in the leaves, flowers, or fruits rather than the oleaginous parts.
Its color is deep green / brown depending on the batch, and it is an oil that can vary greatly depending on the seasons and the places on the Great Island where the avocados come from and the composition of the soil where they grow.
